Recycling
Plastic Milk Bottle Lids |
WOW is proud to introduce our Plastic Milk Bottle Lids recycling scheme,
working to raise money for good causes. Sadly there have been many collecting
schemes throughout the UK offering to exchange large amounts of plastic
lids for wheelchairs. Sadly most of these schemes are a hoax.
After extensive research we have discovered that there are in fact just
two companies in the UK who recycle lids; one in Cheshire and one in
Hants. We are fortunate to be working with G.H.S
Recycling Ltd. in Portsmouth, Hants.
How you can recycle Plastic Milk Bottle Lids

How they raise money
The plastic lids are sold to a recycling company who pay £50 for
one ton. One ton is approximately 50 – 100 bin bags full.
Who receives the money
The money raised by this scheme will be donated to Lupus
UK, a national charity which supports people diagnosed with Systemic
Lupus Erythematosus and Discoid Lupus Erythematosus. Lupus causes the
body’s immune system to go into overdrive and start to attack
itself. Some 50,000 people are believed to suffer with this disease
in the UK. There is as yet no cure.
Further details
After the plastic milk bottle lids have been recycled they are made
into soles of shoes, garden furniture, carrier bags and black bin bags.
